Job Title:              Specification Technologist

Salary:                  £28,000 – £32,000

Location:             Coleshill (some UK travel)

Our client a well established FMCG company are seeking an experienced Specification Technologist to work within their Technical Team to ensure product safety and compliance, collaborating with the Warehouse to align specifications and Key Stakeholders to manage product information.

Responsibilities:

• Update and maintain product specifications, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and company standards
• Ensure all specifications are supported by validated claims
• Manage internal specification databases, ensuring accurate information is accessible to relevant stakeholders
• Validate product labels, ensuring they comply with regulations and legal requirements and ensuring proper implementation and adherence
• Ensure product information is compliant with safety standards, labelling regulations and legal requirements
• Monitor food safety alerts, horizon scanning and taking corrective action
• Support internal and external audits, flag concerns to the Technical Quality Manager
• Obtain product information, certifications and compliance documentation
• Deliver induction and food safety training

Requirements:

• Degree in Food Safety, Food Tech or relevant field
• Experience in a Specification Technologist role
• Strong knowledge of allergen management
• Knowledge of labelling legislation, regulations and HACCP Principles
• Audit experience
• Project management skills
• Training experience
